Re: Welcome to 2025

a happy new year spelled with scrabble tiles

Okay, some weirdness happened and I’m not sure why.

My best guess is that I had two different posts with the exact same name and WordPress or my content builder blew a gasket and merged the two in a weird way.

You can see in the description underneath the image for the Welcome to 2025 post text that isn’t on the actual post page itself.  I could fix it but nah…it’ll be fine.

Oddly enough, it’s given me a little bit of extra content. Just like that I’ve gone from not publishing a post in 4+ years to doing three in one day.

Is it remotely useful content? Nope.

But it’s HUMAN content – which in this era of AI everything, might actually be refreshing to other humans.

If everything becomes ‘AI perfection’ online – perhaps it is the human imperfection that eventually becomes desirable/sought after all? How weird would that be?

Anyway, that’s my excuse for leaving this as-is.

If you’re a glutton for punishment, or just morbidly curious…you can continue to read what I thought I was originally writing for the Welcome to 2025 post below.

Cheers ~ Mike

So it’s been a minute…or a few years since I last posted here.

This is me saying I’m going to change that and post more frequently yet again.

Will I crash and burn yet again? Stay tuned to find out.

But if you can indulge me for a moment on some inward self-reflection, I think the reason I don’t write as much as I can or should is because I’m putting far too much pressure for what I write to significantly impact others.

The reality is – it’s not like there’s a bunch of people camped out on my website waiting for me to publish something new, so I’m not wasting anybody else’s time but my own when I write here.

The other thing is, the more you write…the better you get. Like anything you need to put in the reps, establish a routine and then reflect back on what you’re doing to start making progress.  Even if you take one baby step and land flat on your face, you’ve managed to move from where you were standing before.

And that’s progress….even if you ended up with a bloody nose while face down on the floor.

You pick yourself off, plug up that bloody nose and get back at it.

We have to be willing to suck at doing something before we’ll ever get good at it.  Right now I suck – not necessarily at writing….but at writing and publishing on a regular basis. I need to strengthen that muscle through repetition….nobody gets stronger looking at the weights and thinking to themselves “I gotta lift more”.

Anyway, that’s all I got for now. There will be more insightful posts coming, but this is the one that I needed to write for today.

Welcome to 2025.
